2022 Recipient

Kevin Breckow

Kevin Breckow from Gloucester City High School was awarded the 2022 Lynda’s Butterfly Wish Scholarship. He is attending Universal Technical Institute to be certified in Diesel Technology.

Kevin is ambitious, focused, and hard-working. In addition to obtaining his Diesel Technology certificate, Kevin is pursuing his Firefighter/EMT certifications, continues to volunteer with the Coast Guard Auxiliary – all while working part-time.

Kevin has had an interest in hands-on mechanical work since working on his own truck at his grandfather’s shop. He was particularly attracted to diesel technology when watching his grandfather work on the larger diesel trucks.

We wish Kevin much success in his studies and his many other endeavors.

2021 Recipient

Elizabeth Niessen, 2021 Recipient

Elizabeth Niessen

We awarded our first Lynda’s Butterfly Wish Scholarship in 2021 to Elizabeth Niessen. She was a natural choice for the award. During our Zoom interview, her sweet, positive personality shined. In fact, on her application, one of her teachers commented on how she brings a light into every room she enters. Sound familiar?

Elizabeth is a 2021 graduate of Gloucester City High School. She attended Empire Beauty School and graduated from their cosmetology program in 2022.

Elizabeth recently told us, “I truly enjoy what I do and love my decision to go to school and picking this profession.”

We wish her all the best in her career, and we know she will continue to shine a light into the lives of all she meets.
